Photographed while I was walking in my neighborhood.

I dreamed I was the butterfly king
in robes of purple and brown
I scoured my realm on tired wing
in search of a golden crown

When last I found my hearts desire
as I chanced on a fiery flower
That which I had hoped to acquire
held steadfast against my power

As I awoke I struggled to find
some meaning in this dream
Then all at once it came to mind
that life's not as it seems

We deceive ourselves by believing
we're something we are not
and then we sit there grieving
over what we haven't got

Silly thoughts from a simple mind on a simple, silly dream.
